In our previous newsletter we informed you that we have already made big steps in upgrading our quality manual conform the FSSC norm version 5.1. The progress has slowed down recently because of peak hours at the office in combination with understaffing due to the holidays. Since there are minimal 3 operational months required according to the new procedures, we are on a really tight schedule to have everything finalized in September. The September deadline was set since there is a new FSSC version 6 to be released on 1 April 2024 (no joke!).
Now that September is almost around the corner, especially with the holidays in between, we decided to go for the FSSC version 6 certification. In the FSSC-22000 version 6 there is a new category FII for brokering and trading activities which is more in line with our scope compared to category FI in version 5.1. being retail and wholesale.
FSSC version 6 gives us several benefits since we do not only have more time to make the necessary arrangements but by going for version 6 now we also avoid having to adjust the manual from version 5.1. to version 6 one year after certification.
The decision to go for version 6 instead of version 5.1. moves our original FSSC audit timeline from December 2023 to mid-2024, since the new version is only applicable as from 1 April 2024.
